A New Way Forward

This year has been a bit of a crazy one so far — like probably everybody in this industry, I often feel like I’m playing catch up with myself; so many different ideas and opportunities for projects but never enough time in the week to actually execute them all.
One of the main things I’ve wanted to focus on for a long time is connecting with my audience better.
A lot of you probably discovered me via my facebook and instagram ads which have been amazing in connecting me with a lot of new people but I’m also aware that a lot of that content can at times come across as quite ‘salesy’ and doesn’t leave a lot of space for giving deeper insight into my work beyond pushing my preset packs in a 60 second video.
Moving into the second half of the year, I’ve been thinking about new ways that I can deliver more value to people in a way which is a bit more relaxed and a bit more casual, as well as sharing a bit more about my process away from the algorithms and the ads.
After some thinking and some recent polling of my mailing list, I figured it might be cool to just share some regular updates with you in this blog format, as well as in video form — and share some things that I’ve been working on, things that I’ve been discovering, new techniques and just general happenings from my studio space including some photos I’ve been shooting along the way.

So first up in this new series of blogs and vlogs and whatever you want to call it is a new video in a new format. In this video I’m diving into some indie pop production, sharing some new guitar tone discoveries, and also demonstrating how to get better results with Logic Drummer — plus a bunch of other ramblings.
Check it out below ✌️
Happy mixing!
